About Us

Nigel and Ginny started their business in George Street, Perth in June 1994. Nigel is the third generation of his family to be involved in selling fine paintings, the original family business having been founded by his grandfather in 1889. A forebear was the Victorian painter and Royal Academician, Henry Stacy Marks. Ginny has been working with Nigel since 1979, and between them they offer the experience of nearly sixty years in the art dealing business.

After nearly eleven very happy and successful years in Perth, we decided to close our gallery in December 2004. It was quite a momentous decision as we have traditionally dealt with our clients within a gallery situation. We are now approaching a new phase and shortly we will be opening a gallery at our home just south of Perth. We are very centrally located in Scotland, just over fifteen minutes from the motorways and all major roads in the area. Our home is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Ochil Hills and we can easily send you detailed directions before your visit.

Fine Paintings

We show a wide selection of Scottish, English and Continental oils, watercolours and original prints by artists from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day. Most of the paintings are by well-known artists. Each one is researched and a comprehensive biography is available. Although a name is important, it is the picture itself that is of prime consideration. The quality, condition and subject matter are three key issues when buying a picture. We pride ourselves on the quality of our pictures, and draw upon our experience and knowledge to ensure that the standards that are expected of us remain at a high level.

Wildlife Paintings and Sculpture

We have also become increasingly well-known for our wide selection of wildlife art. We have been dealing in this specialist field for a number of years now and have a fold of very famous artists who exhibit with us and will continue to do so in our new venture. Among their number are painters who work in both in oil and watercolour. A fine selection of sculpture is a key part of our business. Some of the finest living wildlife sculptors exhibit their work with us, again chosen for their quality and innovative styles, using bronze, silver, stainless steel and a combination of interesting materials.
